Women's History Month, Hedy Lamarr

Not just another pretty face.

As we continue to celebrate Women’s History Month, we celebrate Hedy Lamarr (Hedy Kiesler Markey) for her Secret Communication System patent (US Pat. No. 2,292,387) issued on August 11, 1942. Lamarr was inspired to help the war effort by designing a jam-proof radio guidance system used for torpedoes.
