World Intellectual Property Day on April 26, 2021
We at Behmke Innovation Group join @wipo in celebrating World Intellectual Property Day on April 26, 2021.
This year’s theme is “IP & SMEs: Taking Your Ideas to Market”.
For years, the attorneys here at Behmke Innovation Group have been helping start-up companies and other SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) patent and trademark their intellectual property. We become a close team member who will help and support our clients in seeing their patent hopes become realities – without breaking their budgets.
The 2021 World Intellectual Property Day campaign shines a light on the critical role of SMEs in the economy and how they can use IP rights to build stronger, more competitive and resilient businesses. This year’s campaign also maps key IP-related issues that come into play when taking ideas to the market. We explore the practical IP issues and challenges that will arise on that journey and how to manage them. We take a closer look at identifying, protecting, and leveraging IP assets for business growth, the business opportunities that can flow from IP licensing, and the range of options available to finance innovation.
Every business starts with an idea. Each of the millions of SMEs that operate across the globe every day started with an idea that took shape in someone’s mind and made its way to market.
Small and mid-size companies need to protect their product/process and we at Behmke Innovation Group can help can give your business a competitive advantage. The right to exclude others provided through patent protection allows you to fend off competition, assume a lead in the market and gain trust with valuable investors. Additionally, our team can assist your company with registering trademarks to allow you to distinguish yourself from competitors and begin building your brand.
Have an idea that you would like to discuss, or an issue you are trying to navigate? Let us know how we can help you. We never charge for a consultation. We will be happy to assist you in understanding what will be needed to take your idea(s) to market!
In 2000, WIPO's member states designated April 26th – the day on which the WIPO Convention came into force in 1970 – as World IP Day with the aim of increasing general understanding of IP. Since then, World IP Day has offered a unique opportunity each year to join with others around the globe to consider how IP contributes to the flourishing of music and the arts and to driving the technological innovation that helps shape our world.
