November 5 : National Doughnut Day

Did this year’s election leave a hole in your stomach?  Feeling a little empty in the middle?  Reward yourself for getting through the week by joining in on #nationaldonutday and grabbing a yeast or cake donut at your favorite bakery.  In April 1940, Frederick Maier, owner of Freddie’s Donuts in Buffalo, New York, was awarded a patent for his doughnut machine (US Pat.
