National Apple Day

Reach for your apple corer similar to the one patented by Melville P. Hayward in 1917 (US Pat. No. 1,213,361), remove the seeds and core from the apple and snack on an autumn crisp, golden delicious or gala today as we celebrate National Apple Day.  What many consider the perfect after school snack, or a way to keep doctor’s away – the apple has been a readily available snack for hundreds of years.  You can be tempted by an apple or be the apple of someone’s eye.
