Fetch Day

Wonder if Walter Frederick Morrison knew how many dogs he would make happy when he patented his design for a “Flying Toy” in 1958 (US Des. No. 183,626).  Edward E. Headrick’s US Patent for a “Flying Saucer” (US Pat. No. 3,359,678) and assigned to the Wham-O Manufacturing Company referenced Morrison’s design but quickly became known as a Frisbee.  Frisbees were taken to a new level with the invention of Disc Golf – no club needed!  But today, go old-school and take your best friend to the park and play a game of fetch with a Frisbee to celebrate National Fetch Day.  Sorry to all you Gretchen Weiner fans out there – today isn’t about celebrating a new phrase – “That’s so Fetch.”
