National Sock Day

The weather is definitely turning chilly and people are reaching for heavier socks in order to keep themselves warm.  What started as a functional item to help keep sneakers and shoes fresh, socks have become a fashion statement thanks to companies such as @littlemissmatched.   And companies such as @bombas will generously donate a pair of socks to the homeless community for every pair purchased.  In March 1962, Rosabelle Kay Tann was awarded a patent for her Slipper Sock – complete with a puppet mounted on the toe area (US Pat.
