November 16 : Button Day

Button, button whose got the button?  Grab a needle and thread and that container of random buttons we all seem to have, and let’s do some mending today in honor of #nationalbuttonday.  Nothing like putting on your favorite shirt and realizing it’s missing a button.  And for those without a button jar, most clothing manufacturers provide us with a spare on articles of clothing!  Franklin R. White patented his design for the Four-Hole Button in April 1926 (US Pat. No. 1,581,707) and seamstresses around the country were grateful for the design which made using the button with an automatic button sewing machine a bit easier – less broken buttons!  #bigiplaw #patentfunfacts #sewing #buttons
