Fishing Lures

As the saying goes “Give a man a fish, and you'll feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you've fed him for a lifetime.”  From industrial fishing boats to the casual angler, fishing provides people with the ability to feed themselves, or just escape daily life and enjoy the lake, fishing poles have advanced over the years – from a string attached to a stick to the graphite poles and heavy-duty line used today.  And fishermen all across the country reach for their favorite lures depending on the fish they’re hoping to catch.  While a good old-fashion worm will do for some fishing, the aisles of outdoor sports stores are lined with various types and sizes of lures.  In 1936, George Raycraft patented his design for a trout fishing lure (US Pat. No. 2,034,832) which is still referenced in lure patents filed today.
